With the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic, Sail Nelson is striving to create a safe, healthy and positive environment for our students to learn and thrive. As such, Sail Nelson is implementing some new procedures and policies to help us weather this storm.
Cleaning & Sanitization
Sail Nelson has implemented a cleaning and sanitization plan in accordance with our BC Provincial Health Officer (PHO) recommendations. As these recommendations are constantly changing, so will our plan. Students will be provided a cleaning and sanitization schedule prior to their course so they are aware of the process and expectations.
Social Distancing Requirements
Sail Nelson is implementing a revised curriculum which will allow for a decrease in overlap of students working on the boat. In other words, students may be “assigned” a position for the morning session. Then, after the lunch sanitization, students will move to a new position on the boat. This will allow for minimal overlap of students working with the same pieces of equipment.
Masks & Face Coverings
At this point students will be expected to wear a mask for their course. Sail Nelson will provide students with masks, and gloves, each day. Please note that our masks are not medical grade (N95), however they are acceptable 2-ply masks.
Sail Nelson will update this page as restrictions change. Note that students will receive an email 3 days prior to their course outlining any restrictions and expectations specifically due to COVID-19. As a local small business, Sail Nelson greatly appreciates your compassion, understanding and support as we navigate this uncertain time.
